The long range plan makes us believe that the future is under our command.

We feel future events will happen as we have planned.

We believe our visibility is sharp enough to allow us to make comfortable future plans.

We feel confident that our plan can be carried out for the longest time span.

We harbour the thought that solid plans can be made by observing and studying past events carefully.

Past events can be reversed and whole new events can emerge in the future to give us a wide range of shocks sporadically.

The irony is that long-range plans are seldom executed properly as one faces a storm of dynamic possibilities.

Following the toe-to-toe direction of the plan becomes an uphill battle and faces many hostilities.

With all the uncertainty in midway, visibility fades away and then fogs up to opacity.
