Poem — Irrational Euphoria

The sense of reasonability to take rational decisions vanishes into thin air when euphoria takes the front seat.

Due to madness, our actions become uncontrollable during moments of heat.

Warnings by others are ignored and never taken seriously.

Mass insanity guided by incomplete understanding or uncontrolled ecstasy is guiding our path notoriously.

People’s personal interests are fuelled by pressure from others to participate in such a euphoric affair.

Getting carried away by too many unrealistic expectations, one starts to build castles in the air.

Optimism is built on optimism to give a spectacle of grandeur.

Getting caught in a web of hype and exaggeration, our ability to distinguish right from wrong starts to blur.

Taking people’s word as supreme and justifying euphoria for too long is like putting an axe on your feet.

Mass escape from reality will make us more deluded and further push us to the back seat.

New and desirable things attract people’s attention to push their value sky high.

The prospect of ever increasing appreciation in value attracts more people into its loop to cause a frenzied buy.

When the bubble of hype gets inflated too much, it eventually bursts and invites a gruesome ending.

When speculative-driven momentum loses its steam, it brings the inevitable fall that was long pending.

Self-serving illusions that we have carried till now are confronted with a new reality which is painful.

Panic sets in people’s minds and causes ultimate reversal, which makes the outcome of our hasty actions disdainful.

Trusting the crowd too much, we got pulled towards something that was needless.

The thought of how our intelligence gives way to stupidity makes us sleepless.

Conforming to a particular trend without any scrutiny is a mistake one should avoid.

Because when an error gets magnified and sweeps us completely, a deep sense of regret leaves us emotionally destroyed.

When the mood of excitement pulls us towards a unique opportunity based on special foresight, it is time to exercise caution.

Decisions made in haste and emotionally charged states make us repent often.
